The French Riviera, or Côte d'Azur, is one of the most iconic and glamorous coastal destinations in the world, attracting visitors from all over the world. An Eastern city of Turkey, known in ancient times as Amida, spreads across a basalt plateau close to the banks of the Dicle River. The black basalt triple walls which encircle the old town give the city a rather ominous appearance.

Wadi Bani Khalid is a major valley in Oman's Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, extending from the Hajar Mountains toward the desert landscapes of the Sharqiyah Sands. It is known for its year-round watercourses, pools, rocky gorges, and clusters of date palms. Unlike many wadis that can become dry, Wadi Bani Khalid retains flowing water in parts of its upper valley, creating a green contrast with the surrounding arid terrain.
