Catembe is a coastal district of Maputo, located on the southern shore of Maputo Bay directly across the water from central Maputo. Its landscape includes sandy beaches, low coastal vegetation, open land, and views across the bay toward the capital. The district has traditionally been a quieter counterpart to Maputo, with fishing, small-scale agriculture, and coastal activities forming part of local life.
Mount Rainier National Park is centered on Mount Rainier, a massive glaciated volcano rising above the forests and valleys of Washington’s Cascade Range. The mountain dominates the surrounding landscape, with glaciers, snowfields, alpine meadows, old-growth forests, rivers, and waterfalls extending across the park. Its varied elevations create distinct environments, from dense lowland forest to open subalpine terrain and rugged alpine slopes.
Milos is one of the most striking islands in the Aegean Sea, known for its otherworldly landscapes, turquoise coves, and centuries-old history. Shaped like a horseshoe, the island was formed by volcanic activity which left behind dramatic cliffs and hidden beaches carved from soft white rock. Visitors often find their first glimpse of Milos unforgettable, especially at Sarakiniko Beach where smooth, chalk-white formations contrast with the vivid blue water.
Charlestown is the historic capital of Nevis, located on the island’s west coast beside the Caribbean Sea. The compact town retains much of its Georgian-era layout, with low stone buildings, wooden houses, narrow streets, and a waterfront facing Saint Kitts across The Narrows. Charlestown also serves as an important ferry and water-taxi arrival point, connecting Nevis with neighbouring islands.
Hokkaido is Japan's northernmost main island and the country's second-largest island, known for broad landscapes, volcanic mountains, forests, lakes, and a cooler climate than most of Japan. Sapporo serves as the prefectural capital and largest city, while smaller communities extend across farmland, coastlines, and mountain regions.
Espiritu Santo, one of the largest islands of Vanuatu off the east coast of Australia, is a popular destination for divers. Famous Champagne Beach, as one might guess from the name, offers crystal clear waters and powdery white sands, while the western side of the island is dotted with caves to explore and reefs team with marine life just offshore.
