Located in the Gulf of Honduras, this area of the Mayan offers jungle tours along the Rio San Carlos or walking through the Mayan ruina at Quirigua. In ancient Mayan culture, priests used to drive sting ray spines through their tongues to appease their gods.

Dominica’s most iconic natural wonder is the Boiling Lake, the second-largest hot spring in the world.

Founded in 1721 by mainland Chinese, it is the third largest city in Taiwan. Occupied by Japanese from 1895-1945, it totally leveled and rebuilt. With many museums, gardens and universities, it is considered the cultural center of Taiwan.

Bastimentos Island is one of the largest islands in Panama’s Bocas del Toro archipelago, off the Caribbean coast in the country’s northwest. Much of the island remains covered by tropical forest, wetlands, mangroves, and coastal vegetation, with small communities located around sheltered bays. Bastimentos is closely associated with the Bastimentos Island National Marine Park, which protects both terrestrial and marine ecosystems around the island.
