Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, also known as South Ari Atoll, lies southwest of Malé in the central Maldives and includes a mixture of inhabited islands, uninhabited islets, sandbanks, and resort islands. The atoll is surrounded by coral reefs and clear lagoon waters, while many of its inhabited islands retain compact communities shaped by fishing and maritime traditions. Mahibadhoo serves as the administrative capital, with Dhangethi, Dhigurah, Omadhoo, and Mandhoo among the better-known local islands.

Bourg is a small riverside town set along the Dordogne estuary in southwestern France. Its position above the water gives it a quiet but strategic presence, with stone houses rising along narrow lanes that lead toward the harbor. One of Bourg’s most intriguing features lies beneath its streets. Guided visits reveal hidden staircases, carved stone rooms, and cool corridors that offer a completely different perspective from the sunlit streets above.
Cape Cross is a remote coastal site on Namibia’s Atlantic shoreline, located within the dry landscapes of the Namib Desert. It is best known for the Cape Cross Seal Reserve, which protects one of the world’s largest breeding colonies of Cape fur seals. The coastline here consists of rocky shores, sandy beaches, salt pans, and sparsely vegetated desert terrain.
Udaipur, often referred to as the "City of Lakes," is one of India’s most enchanting destinations, nestled in the state of Rajasthan. The crown jewel of the city is the magnificent City Palace, a sprawling complex perched on the banks of Lake Pichola.
Sintra, located just 40 minutes from Lisbon, feels like a world apart. Tucked into the hills of the Serra de Sintra, this town has drawn kings, poets, and explorers for centuries. It was once the summer retreat of Portuguese royalty, who left behind palaces and gardens that seem pulled from a storybook. The most famous, Palácio da Pena, is perched high above the town with bold red and yellow towers that blend Romanticism with Moorish and Gothic styles.

Seclusion is the name of the game on Lizard. It's a large national-park island (21 sq km), located 240km from Cairns and surrounded by Osprey Island, Seabird Islet, South and Palfrey islands. Lizard has special historical interest due to Captain Cook's visit. It also has fine diving and fishing possibilities (it's only 15km from the outer edge of the reef), 23 superb beaches (among the reef's best) and great swimming and snorkelling. However, seclusion and isolalion do not come cheaply, and children under the age of six are banned from the island's small resort.
The resort has the usual sporting facilities, including a floodlit tennis court and swimming pool. The use of all water-sports equipment is included in the daily tariff, but boating trips cost extra. There's also a small campsite, but campers must be entirely self-sufficient as the resort does not particularly welcome non-tariff-paying visitors. This is a pity, as it has an excellent reputation for its cuisine. There's great diving, even right off the beach, but again it isn't cheap. Heavy-tackle fishing is a big attraction, particularly from September to December, and many game-fishing boats use Lizard as a base
during this time. The island has many fine walks and abundant wildlife, such as the huge lizards which gave the island its name, five species of snakes, a small colony of bats and more than 40 species of birds. Almost all resort guests arrive from Cairns by air. There is no regular shipping or ferry service, and the only other possibility is to take a cruise, which will anchor offshore for a night or two. Lizard is one of the most popular anchorages along the reef, and it's the last really
good mooring place before you get to Thursday Island.
